Aker Foundation Update

Aker Foundation

Cllr Tim Aker MEP said: “Giving back to Thurrock. I am incredibly proud to have been born and brought up locally. Thurrock is a great place. When I was elected a councillor I said I would use my allowances to give back to the Community. Here are some of the grants we’ve given out to date since April 2016, with more to come:
“Funded a free, weekly bus service from Aveley to Romford Market,
Aveley Village Community Forum Christmas Market and Christmas Lights,
Lady McAdden’s Breast Screening Trust,
Lance Corporal Nicky Mason Memorial Fund,
Batias,
Chadwell Boxing Club,
Tilbury Riverside Project,
Thurrock DanceMode,
Grays Phoenix.
Put on free fish and chip suppers.
Held free coffee mornings and litter picks
Installed flags for the commemoration of Merchant Navy Day and Remembrance Sunday in partnership with th Lance Corporal Nicky Mason Memorial Fund. These flags will stay up and more to come next year!
“If you (1) are a charity/community group looking for funding (2) have ideas on how we can use the fund to improve Thurrock. (3) want to attend one of our events please email me at tim.aker@ukip.org”
